Mustangs Announce Kregg Snook as Head Coach

Following the departure of Kevin Soine, the Martinsville Mustangs have named Kregg Snook head coach for the 2019 season. Snook takes over for Soine who accepted the head coaching position at Ridgewater College in Minnesota.

"I'm thrilled to welcome Coach Kregg Snook back to Martinsville this summer," said General Manager Ruthanne Duffy. "After having the chance to work with him last summer, I believe that he can bring a lot to the table with his experience and work ethic. The clubhouse will be in great hands with Coach Snook."

Snook, a Houston, Texas native, spent the 2018 season in Martinsville as the Mustangs pitching coach, guiding starting pitcher Addison Domingo to a league-low 1.59 ERA and first-team All-CPL Selection. He also helped Lowell Schipper earn second-team All-CPL honors.

Prior to his current stint at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, Snook spent one season as an assistant at Ranger College (Texas) and four years at Arkansas Monticello (UAM) both as a player and as an assistant coach. Upon his arrival in 2014, the UAM baseball team set a school record for wins and went to its first NCAA regional in school history.

As a player Snook played a key role out of the bullpen, setting a school record with 30 appearances in 2014. Before UAM, he attended Abilene Christian University.

The Mustangs open the 2019 season on Thursday, May 30, at Wilson. For news and ticket information visit or call 276-403-5250. The team can also be reached by email at
