Despite trailing 2-0 in the sixth, the Martinsville Mustangs rallied for five runs in the final four innings to top the Peninsula Pilots 5-3 on Thursday night at War Memorial Stadium.
Righty Addison Domingo (Ohio Dominican) made his first start of the summer, throwing five innings and allowing seven hits, two unearned runs and striking out six.
The Mustangs (2-5) loaded the bases in the sixth before third baseman Cross Factor (Oklahoma St) picked up a sac-fly to make it 2-1, and Josh Falk (South Dakota St) doubled home another to tie it 2-2.
In the seventh, centerfielder Daniel Vitello (Mars Hill) smacked an RBI double to give the Mustangs their first lead of the night, 3-2. Catcher AJ Kloehn (Richmond) scored on an error to make it 4-2 and later added an RBI single in the ninth to give the Mustangs a 5-3 cushion.
Ryan Evans (Grambling St) recorded the final six outs, allowing just a hit to secure the Mustangs first road win of the summer.
Martinsville will host Wilson for the first time this season Friday night at Hooker Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
