Dawson and Falk Selected for 2018 CPL All-Star Show, Vitello Placed In Fan Vote

The Martinsville Mustangs are excited to announce that second baseman Chase Dawson (Valparaiso) and first baseman Josh Falk (South Dakota St) were selected to participate in the 2018 CPL All-Star Show on July 8-9 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium in Lexington, SC. 

Dawson, a rising senior at Valparasio, continues to lead the Mustangs in batting average (.329), hits (25) and stolen bases (5). The second baseman from Chesterton, IN has an on-base percentage of .400 and is slugging .500, both team highs. Dawson has also helped the 'Stangs defense turn 19 double plays and has committed only one error this summer. 

Falk, a rising junior from South Dakota State, is tied for the Mustangs team lead in home runs (3) and RBI's (13)  so far this summer. He is second only to teammate Dawson in hits with 19 and is batting .297 while slugging .469. 

Centerfielder Daniel Vitello (Mars Hills) was named to the All-Star Fan Vote Ballot. Vitello is hitting .298 this summer and has smashed two homers and drove in seven runs. He's also hauled in a few highlight reel catches at center for the Mustangs this year. 

To vote Daniel Vitello to the CPL National Team, you can go to The voting will open at 5 p.m. today, Friday, June 29th and stay open until Monday, July 2 at 11 a.m. with an announcement on who wins coming later that day.
