Pair Of Tar Heels Heading To Martinsville

The Martinsville Mustangs have announced the addition of another dynamic duo from the University of North Carolina to the 2019 roster.

Freshmen right-handers Austin Elliott and Davis Palermo are the newest members of the 2019 Mustangs.

Elliott, a 2018 Delaware State Champion in high school, is currently redshirting during his freshman campaign at UNC. The Milton, Delaware native was a two-time All-State outfielder and pitcher and a four-time All- Conference outfielder and pitcher at Cape Henlopen High School.

Palermo, a two-time Northwood High School Pitcher of the Year, was ranked the No. 10 right-handed pitcher and No. 25 overall player in the state of North Carolina by Perfect Game in 2018. The Chapel Hill native has not seen any playing time yet with his hometown Tar Heels this season.

UNC currently sits at 34-12 overall and holds a 15-9 mark in ACC play. In next week's action, the Tar Heels will host Winthrop and East Carolina before traveling to Pittsburgh for a three-game set over the weekend.
