The Martinsville Mustangs fell 14-6 to the Edenton Steamers in their final trip of the summer to Historic Hicks Field on Satuday night.
Lefty Gavin Arsenault (Maine-Farmington) allowed four runs on six hits and struck out two in five innings of work.
Trailing 5-1 in the seventh, the Mustangs (5-10, 15-26) got a home run from outfielder Dominic Cox (Rice) to trim the deficit to 5-2. His third homer of the season.
The Steamers blew the game open with a five-run seventh and a four-run eighth to make it 14-3.
After an off day Sunday, Martinsville returns to action on Monday for a Dollar Monday Doubleheader against the Peninsula Pilots at Hooker Field. First pitch in Game 1 is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
